Taking part in a Q&A on his own Instagram channel, Reading midfielder Charlie Adam has discussed the idea of heading back to Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

The Scottish central midfielder first started to emerge as a top-level player for Rangers and has since played for the likes of Blackpool, Liverpool and Stoke City in the Premier League.

Now, he's at Reading and has enjoyed a decent time of things under Mark Bowen, after being given the cold shoulder at the start of the campaign by Jose Gomes.

He's still got playing time in his career left, too, and one fan took to social media to ask if he'd ever head back to Ibrox to play for the Gers.

This was Adam's response:

The Verdict

It's a bit of a coy answer from Adam but when you consider how many are involved in a transfer deal you can see what he means.

Rangers would have to want him and Reading would have to be willing to let him go for starters, but you'd imagine deep down that he'd welcome the chance to move back to Ibrox before the end of his career.

It's where it all really started for him and he'd be playing under a former team-mate in Steven Gerrard so there's plenty going for a move for him.
