Eddie Nketiah has revealed how his Leeds United teammates have helped him settle in to life at Elland Road, following his fine start to the season for both club and country.

The 20-year-old striker joined Leeds on a season-long loan from Arsenal on transfer deadline day and has made a big impact so far, scoring three goals in his five appearances for the Whites.

The centre-forward also made his debut for the England Under-21s last week, scoring twice in a 3-2 win over Turkey.

Nketiah has admitted that his Leeds teammates have played a key role in the success he has achieved since his arrival at Elland Road.

The on-loan Arsenal forward has admitted that the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Tyler Roberts and Patrick Bamford have all taken to him really well and have helped him settle in to life at his new club.

“The players are so good in helping me,” said Nketiah, as quoted by The Yorkshire Post.

“If there is something I am not understanding, they talk me through and I feel like it has been a good transition from me and I am sure there will be more to come from me and the team.

“All the players have helped me, it is hard to pick a few. Kalvin Phillips has been nice with me and Tyler Roberts.

“Patrick Bamford is a nice guy, but all the players have really taken to me and it is like a little family there and I am trying to settle in and fit in.

“At the end of the day, all the players are giving their all and that is what I am doing to do. I respect that and it is great to be somewhere where everyone is so supportive and focused on their goals.”

Nkeitah is yet to start for Leeds in the Championship this season, with Bamford starting all six of the Whites' league matches up front, scoring four goals.

The Verdict

After arriving at Elland Road from a top club like Arsenal, Nketiah is under pressure to deliver, but he seems determined to make an impact.

It isn't always easy for a player when they join a new club and Nketiah has never been out on loan before, so it's really good that the Leeds players have helped him settle in. It also says a lot about the team spirit and togetherness within the squad.

He seems to be enjoying his football at the moment and I've been really impressed with the impact that he's made since his arrival at Elland Road. I think he'll turn out to be a fantastic signing for Leeds on loan.

He's a very talented footballer and I think it's only a matter of time before he's given a chance to start games in the Championship.
