Eddie Gray has moved to praise Andrea Radrizzani and the ownership team at Leeds United, insisting they have got things right and set the club up for success.

Leeds were taken over by Radrizzani in full in the summer of 2017, with the Italian looking to end the club’s long wait for a Premier League return.

His first full season in-charge was a disappointment as Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom failed to chase play-off football, but then arrived Marcelo Bielsa.

Quiz: Have Leeds United done these 15 things in the last 10 years? – Yes or no?

Bielsa guided Leeds to third last season and although his side missed out on promotion, there was a significant improvement in the squad and the Whites played some of the best football outside the top-flight.

And, this year, his squad have been back for more and now top of the Championship table, just nine games away from a top-flight return for the first time since the 2003/04 season.

For Gray, who has played for, managed and stayed on as an ambassador at Elland Road, he feels Radrizzani has got things spot on.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: “This ownership have got it right. They have got the best manager and everything is in place for success.”

The season has, of course, been put on hold in the Championship, with Leeds still awaiting the green-light to resume their push for Premier League football.

The Verdict

This is the ultimate praise for Radrizzani from an Elland Road legend.

Gray is royalty at Elland Road and him giving the thumbs up to Radrizzani’s work is probably one of the biggest blessings he could have got.

There’s an inside look at things for Gray, but from the outside looking in, Radrizzani has got things right and he should be applauded for his work at Elland Road.
