BBC reporter Ed Dawes has given the latest on Derby County and their takeover situation and it continues to frustrate.

The Rams had hoped that Chris Kirchner was eventually going to get his deal over the line this summer but that all fell apart and now the club is once again in limbo over potential new owners.

It's starting to affect preparation for next season, too, with Sky Bet League One football now awaiting the Rams and, rightly so, fans are getting pretty ticked off with it all.

Dawes' update won't exactly do anything to ease that, either, with him taking to Twitter to deliver this update:

The Verdict

Derby fans would have really hoped that this situation wouldn't have been going on at this point and that things would have been resolved, but they are perhaps not surprised that the circus continues.

They won't be celebrating until a deal is completely rubber stamped and, even then, it'll take some winning over from the party that does buy the club thanks to how long this debacle has gone on for.

Something needs to happen and fast, but whether that is going to be the case or not remains to be seen.
