Huddersfield Town pulled clear of the relegation zone with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Bristol City on Tuesday evening.

Danny Cowley's side took the lead after 39 minutes when Chris Willock opened the scoring. That lead was then doubled by Karlan Grant from the penalty spot in the second-half.

It was a nervy finish to the game though for Huddersfield, as Famara Diedhiou pulled a goal back for the visitors, but the Terriers held on to take a crucial three points.

The result means that Huddersfield Town have now moved up to 19th in the Championship table, and they're now five points clear of the relegation zone with 11 games in their league campaign still to play.

Grant has been a key member of the Huddersfield squad this season, and was evidently delighted to score his 14th goal of the season, as he issued his thoughts on the game on

Grant's Huddersfield Town team-mate Emile Smith Rowe and QPR's Ebere Eze were quick to respond to Grant's social update, and they were clearly pleased for the forward.

Grant and his Huddersfield Town team-mates are next in action on Saturday, when they take on Charlton Athletic in a game they'll be expected to pick up three points from.

The Verdict:

All three players are having impressive seasons with their respective clubs.

Grant's goal tally speaks for itself, and he'll be hoping he can add to that as the season progresses. But he's certainly been helped by the creative threat posed by Emile Smith Rowe, who has really impressed me since arriving on loan from Arsenal.

Eze is a player that clearly has a bright future ahead of him, and he continued that impressive run of form with an assist for Illias Chair's winner against Derby County.

But Grant will be keen to build on some strong performances this term for Danny Cowley's side, and his goal contribution could prove to be the difference between staying up and relegation from the Championship this season.
