Aston Villa return to Sky Bet Championship action tomorrow, looking to strengthen their grip on a place in the top-six when they come up against promotion rivals Derby County at the Pride Park Stadium.

Bruce’s side have recorded consecutive draws in the Championship, with both Leeds United and Millwall holding Bruce’s side in recent weeks.

Here at FLW, we take a look at the starting XI Bruce could select for tomorrow’s clash with Derby, with plenty of changes, as injuries mount up at Villa Park.

Sam Johnstone should continue in goal, behind a back four that will include Neil Taylor and James Chester, however, injuries to Chris Samba and Alan Hutton mean that Mile Jedinak and Ahmed Elmohamady could be drafted in.

Ahead of that unit, Bruce will be expected to stick with a flat four, where Robert Snodgrass, Albert Adomah and Glenn Whelan all retain their places, whilst Conor Hourihane should return in the place of Henri Lansbury, who is set to be missing through injury.

In the number 10 role, Josh Onomah has struggled recently, with plenty of calls for Jack Grealish to be handed a start in place of the 20-year-old.

Keinan Davis has done a magnificent job leading the line in Jonathan Kodjia’s absence, but with the 19-year-old’s performances beginning to look tired, Scott Hogan could be handed a rare start.
