Preston North End face a second tough away trip in the space of four days when they travel to another recently-relegated side in Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Alex Neil's side were comfortably beaten at Watford on Saturday, their fifth defeat in their previous seven Championship matches, and the going gets tougher when the Whites make the long midweek visit to the Vitality Stadium, where the Cherries are unbeaten following their relegation.

But on a positive note, four of Preston's five league victories this season have come on the road, although their early-season away form has evaporated - which has seen Neil's men slide towards the second-tier relegation-zone.

However, the game at Vicarage Road saw both Ben Davies and Ben Pearson return to the starting XI after their recent injuries, although the Preston boss told the club's official Twitter account that the pair won't definitely be available to face Bournemouth.

Irvine? Westley? Who was the Preston North End manager when each of these 15 Lilywhites moments happened?

He said: "We need to be careful with the two Ben's as they are back after a significant period out, so we will see how they go over the next day or so but hopefully they will be available."

But Neil will be able to call upon both captain Alan Browne and Joe Rafferty, who're available having served their respective one-match suspensions against Watford.

The Verdict

Overall, this is terrific news for Preston. The side clearly missed Browne at Watford on Saturday, whilst the return of Rafferty will also be an important boost for Neil.

Meanwhile, the Whites boss is probably being cautious over the two Ben's, you can expect both to be in the squad for the game on the South Coast if they came away from Watford unscathed.
