Sheffield Wednesday are set to hand starts to January signings Dominic Iorfa, Achraf Lazaar and Rolando Aarons tonight when they face fierce rivals Sheffield United in an under-23's clash tonight, reports Dom Howson of the Sheffield Star

Both Aarons and Iorfa came off the bench in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Rotherham United with the latter scoring the equaliser ten minutes into second-half injury time.

Howson also revealed that goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith and defender Daniel Pudil would also feature as the pair continue their return from injury.

Wildsmith has only made two appearances all season, in the League Cup, whilst Pudil has been carrying a knock since mid-December.

That draw with the Millers at the New York Stadium left Steve Bruce's side in 15th place with 32 matches played but a comfortable 12 points above the relegation zone.

This weekend sees them come up against Swansea City at Hillsborough as they look to maintain the solid run of form they find themselves in.

The verdict

This is the right decision from Bruce and Wednesday.

Both Aarons and Iorfa looked sharp when they came on against Rotherham but bringing them, and Lazaar, up to match fitness that bit more can only be a good thing.

Being thrown straight into a derby clash will do them no harm either in terms of adapting to their new home.
