Sheffield Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher will be available for selection as the side gear up to face struggling Bolton tonight.

The Scotland international had been a doubt after he was forced off shortly into the second half of the 1-1 draw with Derby on Saturday.

However, Sheffield Star reporter Dom Howson has given a positive update on the former Wolves man, revealing that he will be involved for Steve Bruce's men tonight.

Fletcher has established himself as a key player since the experienced boss took over last month, with Bruce starting the 31-year-old in seven of his eight game so far.

And, in fairness, the player has warranted that, scoring three goals in that time and he has impressed with his ability to hold the ball up and bring others into play too.

The Owls currently trail the play-off places by six points and will look to close that gap with a victory over a Bolton side that are second from bottom in the Championship.

The Verdict

This is great news for Wednesday fans as Fletcher is an important player for the side now.

As mentioned, it's not just about goals for the ex-Sunderland man as he leads the line and is a focal point for this side.

If Bruce's side are to have any chance of making the play-offs then this is surely must-win, so having Fletcher available is a big boost.
