Sheffield Wednesday will look to bounce back from their midweek defeat when they take on Aston Villa tomorrow.

The Owls had enjoyed a reasonable start to the season but knew they faced an extremely tough set of fixtures leading up to the October international break.

After a draw with Stoke and a defeat at the City Ground, Wednesday travel to Villa Park on Saturday ahead of home games against Leeds and West Brom.

With that in mind, Luhukay made the decision to rotate his squad in the week and could make changes again for the trip to the West Midlands.

Sheffield Star journalist Dom Howson revealed some early team news on Twitter after speaking to the former Gladbach boss at his press conference earlier today:

The manager stated that Matt Penney, Connor Kirby and Fraser Preston are in the squad for the Aston Villa clash, with Penney expected to return to the starting XI at left-back.

The 20-year-old has broken into the side this season, playing five games and seems to have established himself as first-choice on the left side of defence.

The Verdict

Owls fans will be glad to see the young trio returning to the squad for the game tomorrow as they all bring something to the group.

Particularly Penney, who has impressed this season and fans were understandably surprised to see Morgan Fox play at left-back in the midweek game at Forest.

It's a big test and a big stage for the three players at Villa Park and they will hope to feature as the Yorkshire side look to get what would be an impressive win.
