Speaking to MOT Leeds, Paul Robinson has predicted the Leeds starting XI for their first game back after the break against Cardiff City, and thinks Marcelo Bielsa will avoid making any changes to the team that he last fielded.
The Whites will be delighted to be back in action this weekend as they look to get themselves off to a flyer with three points against Cardiff.
Indeed, they’re aiming to get themselves promotion from the second tier at long last and Marcelo Bielsa is the man masterminding the challenge.
The Argentine has regularly used the same XI during his time at the club, too, with him very loyal to those players he thinks do the job he wants them to do well, and Paul Robinson can’t see that changing for the weekend – despite the big break in play.
“They’ll pick up where they left off.
“Meslier’s going to play and I know there’s a lot of good feeling around the club about him. He’s very highly rated at Elland Road. He will play.
“It’ll be a four at the back, with Kalvin Phillips ahead of them. Patrick Bamford will be up top.
“If he’s got a full squad you can bet your savings it will be the usual 11 for Bielsa.”
Certainly, there are few fitness doubts at Leeds now thanks to the prolonged gap in the season and the Whites should be at a decent level of physical well-being, even if their match sharpness is naturally a little lower.
Many think Leeds will blast out of the blocks at this restart, and Robinson evidently feels that the same men that finished the first chunk of this campaign, will kick-off the final bit too.
