Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett has issued a squad update ahead of the side's upcoming clash against MK Dons on Tuesday night at Fratton Park.

Pompey will be looking to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat on the weekend to Fleetwood Town at the Highbury Stadium, their second loss in four league matches.

The defeat saw Pompey relinquish their place in the League One play-off places, dropping down to 7th in the table.

They come up against a MK Dons team who have hit form. Russell Martin's side are unbeaten in their last five league games.

Portsmouth also lost the last meeting between the teams on the 29th December by three goals to one, on what was an afternoon to forget in front of more than 4,000 travelling fans.

Ahead of the game, Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett has provided an update on his squad, with Ellis Harrison and Andy Cannon's fitness at the top of the agenda.

Cannon has missed Pompey's last five games with a glute injury, and did not travel with the squad for the Fleetwood game.

However, after coming through training without any setbacks, Jackett has said that he could be in line to make his comeback on Tuesday, as well as Ellis Harrison.

“We’ll make a final decision on Tuesday morning, but they were close on Saturday and I’m optimistic," Jackett told the club website.

“Andy can give us something different in the number 10 position and links the play very well between defence and attack."

Harrison suffered a dead leg in last week's win over Exeter in the Leasing.com trophy, and had been in line to lead the line upfront against Fleetwood before being withdrawn shortly before kick-off.

Other than those concerns, Jackett should have a relatively clean bill of health.

“There are no other injury concerns and we’re hopefully okay at the moment – long may that continue.”

Lee Brown missed the Fleetwood game with a sickness bug, but should be involved against the Buckinghamshire side on Tuesday.

The Verdict

The good news for Kenny Jackett is that it looks likely that both Andy Cannon and Ellis Harrison will be involved on Tuesday night.

Although it all depends if they come through training on Monday, both should make the bench for the game.

Pompey will be looking to make amends from the weekend's loss to Fleetwood and will also want to continue their unbeaten league run at Fratton Park.
