Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has revealed that he will make changes for Tuesday night's clash with Salford City in the League Cup, reports Phil Hay of The Athletic.

The Argentinian has played the same side for the first-two matches of the Whites' league season but will allow the club's new arrivals and some of their youngsters the chance to gain some valuable first-team game time tomorrow.

He did not explicitly say whether or not deadline day arrival Eddie Nketiah would play but it is expected that he will get some minutes at The Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday.

Other players who could well be given starts are winger Helder Costa, who has been limited to cameo appearances in the league so far, and goalkeeper Illan Meslier, who made the move to Elland Road on deadline day from Lorient.

Saturday saw the Whites frustratingly held to a draw by Nottingham Forest at Elland Road with many believing that it was a match they should have won.

Pablo Hernandez gave Bielsa's side a second-half lead but a freak goal from Lewis Grabban meant the points were shared with Sabri Lamouchi's Reds.

The verdict

This is the perfect opportunity for these new signings and youngsters to make a real statement.

We saw last season that once Bielsa has a settled side, it can be hard to break into it. But a stand-out display against the League Two outfit could make him seriously reconsider.

In a way, I imagine most would be happy to see Leeds go out of the cup competitions ASAP in order to concentrate on the league, but at the same time they will want to see an improvement on Saturday's showing.
