Samu Saiz appears to have played his last game for Leeds United and won’t be involved this afternoon as Marcelo Bielsa’s side take on Bolton Wanderers in the Championship.

Leeds head to Bolton on an excellent run of form having won their last four, but stretching that run this afternoon will be difficult without Getafe-bound Saiz.

Phil Hay at the Yorkshire Evening Post has confirmed that Saiz will not be involved in Bolton, or again for the Whites, as he’s set for a loan move to Getafe after becoming unsettled in English football.

Bielsa is boosted by the return of other options, though, with Patrick Bamford amongst them.

The 25-year-old forward has been unavailable since August due to a serious knee injury, but has stepped up his recovery in the last week and featured as an unused substitute as Leeds beat QPR.

And, there was an impressive under-23 appearance, with Bamford netting a midweek hat-trick in a 6-3 victory over Burnley.

Sky Sports’ matchday preview confirms he’s in contention to feature, as is Izzy Brown, but it looks unlikely that the latter will be involved this afternoon in Bolton.

The Verdict

The absence of Saiz is obviously a blow for Leeds and Bielsa, but you’d back the Whites to have more than enough to pick up three points.

Leeds head to Bolton in great form, and are going up against a side struggling towards the foot of the table.

With the return of Bamford also boosting Leeds, you’d expect three points.
