Huddersfield Town are expected to hand game time to a number of players who have yet to appear this season, with some set to make their competitive debuts for the club, as per Examiner Live.

A familiar face is likely to return to the squad too; Jan Siewert has suggested Rajiv Van La Parra will be back in the set-up in their League Cup clash against Lincoln City, despite reports that the winger could still leave the club.

Lewis O'Brien was handed his debut against QPR at the weekend and it is likely fellow young players Josh Koroma and Reece Brown will start, having so far only featured on the bench since their summer arrivals.

Trevoh Chalobah, who was brought in to replace Aaron Mooy on transfer deadline day, could also feature whilst Herbert Bockhorn could come into the side to replace Terence Kongolo, with Siewert having an eye on Friday's visit of Fulham.

It is a good chance for Siewert to assess how his new signings and fringe players fair in a competitive match, and it is the ideal opportunity for those players to build up fitness ahead of what will be a busy season.

The Verdict

With a new-look side set to play this promises to be an exciting clash for the fans, and it presents a brilliant opportunity for new signings to make their case to feature more regularly, particularly as many Town players have yet to impress so far.

Koroma and Brown in particular are exciting prospects. Both are young players who have done well in the lower leagues and will be determined to prove a point to the manager, which could result in a more exciting and threatening Huddersfield side.

The return of Van La Parra is also a positive. He is a potential matchwinner so Huddersfield need to retain players like him, and reports linking him away would have worried some Terriers fans.
