Birmingham City are set to be boosted by the return of both Marc Roberts and Ivan Sunjic this evening, with the pair in contention to feature against Huddersfield Town at St Andrew’s tonight.

Roberts hasn’t been involved since the football season restarted, but the 29-year-old defender has now shaken off his thigh problem and is in contention to feature tonight.

The same goes for Sunjic, with the 23-year-old not in action since the defeat against Reading on March 7th, with his own thigh problem keeping him on the sidelines.

Pep Clotet has confirmed to Birmingham’s official media team that the pair will be in contention tonight as Blues go up against a struggling Huddersfield side.

"Both Ivan and Robbo are available for selection," said Clotet.

"They’ve trained both days this week so that’s a big boost to have them back.

"They’ve worked hard and done everything the medical staff have asked of them so that’s some positive news."

Clotet’s side are looking for their first victory since the Championship’s restart, with Blues aiming to build on back-to-back draws.

A goalless draw with West Brom was played out on June 20th, with Clotet’s side showing their battling qualities by securing a 3-3 result with Hull City last time out, despite the fact the Tigers had been in a commanding position.

The Verdict

Whilst Birmingham aren’t really playing for anything in the Championship in the run-in, Clotet’s side would surely like to finish on a positive.

They’ve got two decent enough results so far, but given Huddersfield’s struggles, they will be expecting to finally record a victory.

Danny Cowley’s side aren’t in a great position in the table and with players like Roberts and Sunjic returning, it is the perfect chance for Birmingham to pick up three points.
