Aston Villa have announced that Mile Jedinak will be fit to face Wigan this weekend, while Keinan Davis and Scott Hogan will face late fitness tests to determine if they will feature.
In a statement on the Aston Villa website, the club confirmed that 34-year-old central midfielder Jedinak has been suffering from illness, but will be back fit in time to face Wigan Athletic at Villa Park on Saturday.
Bruce stated: “Mile was sick the other night. He’s fine now. He’s recovered.”
David and Hogan have both been suffering from injuries, and it is uncertain whether they will feature for the Claret and Blue Army this weekend.
Bruce continued: “The main issues are with the two strikers. Keinan is struggling. Scott is struggling. We will see.”
Aston Villa, who finished fourth last season and lost 1-0 to Fulham in the play-off final, started their new Championship campaign with a 3-1 away victory over Hull City on Monday night.
Aston Villa have started their campaign well, but will he hoping that they will have a full strength squad going into the coming games.
Having Jedinak back in full health is important for Villa, but with Davis and Hogan still doubts, Steve Bruce and his team will be hoping to have them back as soon as possible.
What is probably more important than any injury news is that star player Jack Grealish has stayed at Villa Park, and will be back wearing the claret and blue this season.
