Scottish side Dundee United are lining up a move for Huddersfield town full back Paul Dixon, according to The Evening Telegraph.

Dixon is an ex-United player but left for Huddersfield in 2012 who signed him upon contract expiry. He's also a lifelong United fan.

The Scottish international was a first team regular in the Yorkshire side before Chris Powell was appointed as manager and he now finds himself out of favour.

Dixon would be used to fill the hole left by Andrew Robertson who left for Hull City during the summer for £3 million. They've had Connor Townsend on loan, but that deal ends at the end of this season.

In Huddersfield Town's last Sky Bet Championship game they played Wigan and triumphed 1-0 at the DW Stadium.

Conor Coady's late striker settled the affair, which looked like it may have been a cross from a wide that manages to outwit Carson

After the game, Huddersfield manager Chris Powell said to the Terriers official site: “I thought we were very good on a tough pitch in a tense atmosphere; obviously both sides wanted the points. We recognised all week that this was the start of three huge games in our season.

“Wigan are away at Ipswich next week, so they will have targeted today’s game – but we did too. I saw the Chairman yesterday and told him this was a game we needed to come through to see what sort of players we have here. I thought they were excellent, to a man.

“They all played their part. Wigan cleared two off their line in the first-half and I felt that over the balance of play, we maybe should have been the victors. It was a hard-fought game.”

Huddersfield are now performing as expected this season and after a poor and dramatic start in which they sacked Mark Robins on the opening day of the season, they're now in 15th place having accumulated 34 points this season.
