The Port Vale players resumed pre season training yesterday and there’ll be two new signings to join the squad on the training pitch at Vale Park.
Micky Adams has been busy in the transfer market as versatile defender Ryan McGivern joins the League One side on a two year deal from Hibernian.
In addition, Vale have announced the signing of winger Mark Marshall who joins on a free from Coventry City.
Marshall made 71 appearances for Barnet in League 2 before signing a short term contract with Coventry.
There are suggestions that Port Vale’s business in this transfer window is not finished yet as Adams is keen to show that Vale are a club with plenty of ambition.
The Valiants finished in 9th spot in League 1 last season, 13 points off a play off spot but had the worst goal difference in the top 16 suggesting the defence is an area that Adams will look to continue to bolster. Vales’ opener in the 2014/15 campaign is at home to Walsall on 9th August.
