There’s a chance for Leeds United to sign Harry Wilson from Liverpool this summer, should the Whites want to reopen their pursuit of the winger ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Leeds have previously been keen on signing the Liverpool winger, who has enjoyed three successful loan spells away from Anfield over recent years, but the Whites missed out on those deals.

After 10 goal involvements in just 13 appearances at Hull City in 2017/18, Wilson moved to Derby County last season, where he struck 16 goals and registered four assists under the management of Frank Lampard.

On the back of that, Liverpool sent Wilson the way of AFC Bournemouth where he has again impressed; the 23-year-old has scored seven times in the Premier League.

Now, Football Insider report how the expected hit the transfer market will take could lead to Wilson leaving Liverpool in something of a bargain deal, particularly given the Reds’ immense options in Wilson’s position. Therefore, opening the door for Leeds.

Under Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds are in pursuit of Premier League football once again, topping the Championship table and sitting just nine games away from top-flight football.

Bielsa’s current array of attacking options include Jack Harrison and Helder Costa, who for the bulk of the season, have started on the left and right.

The Verdict

Wilson would be an ideal fit for Leeds and is clearly a player Bielsa has given the ‘green light’ to previously.

If Leeds win promotion to the Premier League and Wilson does become available in some respect, you can see how the Whites would get involved in the conversation over his signature again.

Previously, they’ve missed out, but Premier League football could well be the deciding factor in them landing their potential target this time around.
