Nottingham Forest picked up their second Championship victory in as many games with a thrilling 4-3 success at Brentford on Saturday.

Mark Warburton’s men edged past Millwall 1-0 on the opening weekend of the season, and backed that up with an impressive victory at Griffin Park, with debutant Andreas Bouchalakis netting twice to inspire the visitors to a fine away win.

And with victory over Shrewsbury Town in the first round of the Carabao Cup last week as well, it has been a stunning start to the season for Warburton and his Forest side, who will go into their clash with Barnsley on Tuesday confident of adding another three points to their tally.

The East Midlands giants lost star striker Britt Assombalonga over the summer to Middlesbrough, but optimism has since been restored following several astute summer signings, and there may well be another one through the door at the City Ground, namely Bournemouth goalkeeper Adam Federici.

The 32-year-old moved to the Vitality Stadium back in 2015 but has struggled to force his way into Eddie Howe’s first team plans, and the arrival of highly-rated Chelsea shot-stopper Asmir Begovic this summer has done little to help his chances.

And reports last week suggested that Forest were eyeing up a move for the Australia international, although reports more recently suggest that a deal for the former Reading man has hit a snag, throwing the move into doubt.

And news of these recent developments has stimulated quite a response from Forest fans on Twitter…
