Reading manager Mark Bowen has given his thoughts on former Chelsea loanee Lewis Baker, who was at the Berkshire club for the second half of last season.
The current boss was asked if he would potentially bring the 24-year-old back on loan to the club.
Baker is currently in Germany with Fortuna Dusseldorf until the end of the season, where he has had a tough time, making just seven league appearances so far.
In response, the Reading manager said that if he were put on the spot at this present moment, he would say “no”.
Mark Bowen on potentially bringing Lewis Baker back:
”If somebody said you had to make a decision right here and now I would go no. Is he any better than the players we have at the moment who are trying their hearts out for the club? I don't think so.”

Bowen went on to say that he does not believe that Baker is of a higher level than any of his current playing squad.
The central midfielder made nineteen appearances during his time at the Madejski Stadium last season, scoring once and providing a further assist.
Bowen’s thoughts on the 24-year-old have provided quite a response from the Reading fan base on Twitter, as we can see below…
