Aiden McGeady's future with Sunderland looks to be in doubt.

According to the Sunderland Echo, the 33-year-old was involved in an incident at the training ground this week; the details of which are yet to be confirmed.

As a result, the report claims that the winger will be allowed to leave the club in January.

While McGeady is regarded as one of the more talented players in the Sunderland squad, the main focus for the club is ensuring that the team spirit remains intact.

The Republic Of Ireland international is under contract until the summer of 2021, but given events this week it appears that he could be allowed to move on sooner rather than later.

As you'd expect, supporters have taken to social media to share their views on the Aiden McGeady situation.

While plenty acknowledge the fact that he's a player who the club should be looking to build the team around, the majority are in agreement that the atmosphere around the club is more important.
