Following their 0-0 draw with automatic promotion hopefuls Wycombe on Tuesday, Lincoln City find themselves back in the top seven with everything to play for over the next four games.

Colchester visit Sincil Bank on Saturday before a crucial double header of away games will decide their fate. Trips to Coventry and Accrington loom large before a final day visit from Yeovil.

What will follow is either a play off campaign or a summer of squad tinkering, the latter inevitable whatever the final position. Fans will be hoping that the outgoings are minimal as they add to a talented squad.

However, following interest in Alex Woodyard and the form of Neal Eardley, there will be a fight to keep the current squad together just as much as adding to it.

Whilst some moves are very obvious, here's three at FLW that we think could benefit Lincoln, even though on the face of it they may not look like bankers.

Stephens is a former Imps, a one-time loan player who has since been plying his trade in the National league with both Barnet and Boreham Wood.

He's still only 26-years old and although it may seem like a backward step, he's a hugely able and powerful defender who would add depth to their current squad.

The failed move for Akinola in the summer was perhaps the 'on off' transfer move of their summer. Ultimately, the deal fell through and since then Imps fans have felt that it should be left where it is, in the past.

Akinola hasn't enjoyed a great season with Barnet, who look set to drop out of the league, but we feel there's still benefit in adding him to their ranks. Strength can come from depth and if he was deemed good enough in August, he is surely still good enough now.

35-years old and coming off the back of an injury-hit season at Cambridge, Ibhere wouldn't be the first choice for Imps fans in the summer. He probably wouldn't be in the top 100.

Wycombe have proved this season that age is no barrier where there is desire and skill. Notts County have found themselves in the top six with a similar philosophy. Ibhere has scored wherever he's gone, he's robust and fits the Imps style and he could be a tremendous impact player, directly switching with Matt Rhead during games.

Not all signings are exciting youngsters.
