Swansea City boss Russell Martin is believed to be a target for Rangers as they search for Steven Gerrard’s successor.
The Liverpool legend is expected to be named as the new Aston Villa boss before the weekend, which would leave the Scottish champions in a very difficult position at this point of the season.
So, the hierarchy at Ibrox will be making plans for a replacement, and the Mirror have claimed that Martin is a target.
The 35-year-old was only appointed as the Swans chief in August after leaving MK Dons, and he’s done very well since taking over, picking up results and implementing a stylish brand of football that sees the Welsh side regularly dominate the ball.
21 things every Swansea City fan should know about their club, so can you score 100% on this?
Therefore, it’s fair to say that Swansea fans are very concerned that Martin could link up with Rangers, although Wales Online have confirmed that no official approach has been made just yet.
Here we look at some of the reaction to the news from Twitter…

Can’t see it happening mate. Football is a funny game, but moving him and his family from MK to Swansea to Glasgow in a few months, can’t see him shooting off this early. Definitely at some point in the future though if we don’t go up over the next couple seasons.

I will hate football if this happens. Be a real shame but what an opportunity if it came up for him. Be shocked if he moved from MK to Swansea to Glasgow in 100 days https://t.co/XHZg5QMRHS

Why would anyone in their right mind want to go to such a rancid club 🤢 Worst thing is some of our fans would probably be buzzing given the sizeable minority of our fans who strangely love that club. No chance he goes imo 🤷♂️ https://t.co/MCzxFhrNJG
