Leeds have been linked with move for Crystal Palace midfielder Jordon Mutch, but they would be extremely unwise to make a move.

Leeds have had one of the busiest transfer windows out of all the Championship sides this year, but only one of their signings has played for an English side that isn't Leeds before - Vurnon Anita, who joined on a free from Newcastle United.

Palace outcast Mutch would be the second from an English club to join, but he really shouldn't be, and Leeds should ditch any effort to sign him.

The former QPR midfielder joined Reading on loan in January last season, and as a Royals fan I had the sheer pleasure of watching his time at the Madejski unfold - needless to say it wasn't good.

Frankly, Mutch looked like he wanted to be anywhere but on loan at Reading.

He couldn't have gotten off to a better start, netting away at Ipswich Town on his debut, but from then it was a downhill slope.

He didn't look interested. He was sloppy. He looked overweight. His passing was poor, he couldn't dribble, his work rate was extremely low but, to his credit, he had a decent finish on him.

The end of Mutch's Reading career came in a notable defeat to Norwich City.

There were many horrendous performances that day, but Mutch's was up their with the worst of them. He never played again.

Thus I would not advise Leeds, nor any Championship side, to sign Jordan Mutch, let alone pay two million English pounds for him.

There are much better options on the market for that much money, especially given the extensive scouting range Leeds appear to have.

They can do better.
