Bolton owner Ken Anderson has revealed that he hopes a takeover goes through this week for the struggling Championship club.
He has been desperate to sell the club, with the fans also wanting Anderson to leave, and his latest comments on the official site suggest a deal is close.
The players were finally paid their February wages today and Anderson sent a long message to the fans that came across as his goodbye.
He covered the financial cost of managing a club in the Championship, explaining how other clubs have taken the levels of spending to extremely high levels.
Additionally, he praised the work that Phil Parkinson has done at the Trotters, along with the players, and backed them to stay up this season.
For many, these words have come too late with his previous actions too much for many to forgive.
Here’s how some responded to his message on Twitter…
No one has been loyal to you Ken. They have all been loyal to the club. No one has a good word for you. I sincerely hope that this is the last time that we have to suffer your deluded ramblings. You and your son will forever be despised by the people of this town. Good riddance!

Only paid the non playing staff late once ???????????? – that's once too many times in the eyes of us – messing with people's lives when they depend on a salary is inexcusable- bye and don't come back

I’ll be the first to say I hate Ken Anderson but if this is goodbye then thank you for keeping the club alive. You may not be be liked but you gave the club a platform to stand on and if things look good in 20-30 years then I think we’ll look back at this and say thank you.

Did Ken trim fat at BWFC & flip the club for a profit? Looks like it. The way it was done, with brinksmanship of settling monies owed, the alleged large payouts to himself & the distain he showed for anyone questioning his methods will leave a sour legacy. Not that he'll care….
