Leeds United have reminded Marcelo Bielsa of his responsibilities and owner Andrea Radrizzani has apologised to Derby owner Mel Morris following the ‘spygate’ issue between the clubs.
The Whites boss admitted that he had sent a club employee to watch the Rams train in the build-up to last night’s game, which understandably angered Frank Lampard.
Ultimately, Leeds won convincingly last night, with goals from Kemar Roofe and Jack Harrison sealing an impressive three points.
However, much of the talk has been about the spying and the Yorkshire club have released an official statement this morning addressing the matter.
“Following comments made by Marcelo Bielsa yesterday the club will look to work with our head coach and his staff to remind them of the integrity and honesty which are the foundations that Leeds United is built on.
“Our owner Andrea Radrizzani has met with Derby County’s owner Mel Morris to formally apologise for Marcelo’s actions.”
Yet, it’s fair to say that many supporters feel that this wasn’t necessary and that the club didn’t need to make an apology.
Here’s how some fans reacted to statement on twitter…
Great. Can we now move on like adults and get on with it. What’s the big deal

Laughable thing is that MB has acted with more integrity this season than anyone else involved in the game. Always accepts responsibility for his actions, admits when he makes mistakes, never blames other, never criticised officials and has never whinged about chronic injuries

No need to remind him of anything, just keep telling him to get them 3 pts each week. The manager has been a breath of fresh air to our club and the way we play our football is a joy to see. MOT

Don’t bow to the pressure. No wrong has been committed @andrearadri

Bit disappointed that they are bowing to the media and hypocritical ex-professional ‘pundits’. Should have come out and supported what Bielsa has done and said ‘if you hate Leeds United, have a go’
