Charlton Athletic fans have reacted to an appreciation post on Twitter for forward Jonathan Leko, and they’ve mixed views on the striker’s season so far.
The 20-year-old joined Lee Bowyer’s side on a season-long loan in the summer from Championship leaders West Brom.
He’s featured in all but two of Charlton’s league games so far and has scored five goals, with three of them coming in the last four games.
Leko’s seen a lot more game time in recent weeks with Charlton going through an injury crisis – they had eight first-team players unavailable for their 3-1 loss to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, and could only name five players on the bench.

It’s been a difficult few weeks for Bowyer who’s seen his side slide down the Championship table and into 17th for their trip to Middlesbrough tomorrow.
The West Brom forward will likely feature again tomorrow, but not all fans are sold on him. See what they’re are saying about him on Twitter below:
Wasn’t a great fan at first but he’s getting goals at the moment and offers something no one else in the team has with his pace. Yes he’s frustrating but we’d be a worse team without him. Ideally he’s an impact sub I think so wouldn’t mind a permanent signing in summer.

Can't agree with all that I'm afraid, undoubtedly got talent and pace with an ability to frighten defenders but needs to look up and see an easier ball, also I don't see a player tracking back and find he gives up rather easily to do so..

Agree with all this. He’s 20, of course he’s not the finished article. He frightens defences, he’s our x-factor. People who think he’s no good, look at Bowyer when he seemingly runs down a blind alley. He doesn’t shout or shake his head, Leko is doing what Bows is asking of him.

I don’t agree with it and when everyone’s fit I don’t think he will make the bench but he’s a Charlton player for now so I will support him

Do you understand the game of football? Don’t be fooled by a few step overs. Lazy, selfish player

I agree with most of that just don't think he has enough of a footballing brain. Can't read/doesn't look at other runs and people can get past him easily. He is learning tho and will hopefully keep getting better
