Sky Bet League Two’s basement side Dagenham and Redbridge have confirmed on their official website the signing of Nottingham Forest’s young starlet Matty Cash on a one-month loan deal.
The young midfielder initially joined Forest from an academy at Bisham Abbey in 2014, however he has failed to break through to the first team set-up and make an appearance.
Although he has yet to feature for the first team, he has a lot of experience at development level and has been a permanent fixture in Nottingham Forest’s Under-21 side, where has made 16 appearances this season alone.
It has been an excellent week for the young midfielder, as he signed his first professional contract for the club on Wednesday, and now has moved on loan to struggling Dagenham and Redbridge, joining another fellow Nottingham Forest loanee Joe Worrall.
Cash will be hoping he is given the opportunity to play regular first-team football at Dagenham and Redbridge, and that he can make an impression to kickstart his Nottingham Forest career.
Daggers fans will be hoping that Cash can help John Still’s side get out of the mire at the bottom of League Two.
The Football League’s bottom side are seven points adrift of safety, and face a must-win relegation six-pointer against York City this afternoon.
