Wycombe Wanderers have signed Bournemouth goalkeeper Ryan Allsop on loan until the end of the season, the club’s official website has confirmed.
Allsop has made 23 appearances for the Cherries since his signing from Leyton Orient in 2013. He started his career at West Bromwich Albion, although didn’t make a senior appearance for the Baggies.
Allsop has made only one Premier League appearance this season, coming on at half time in the Bournemouth vs Everton match in November 2015.
Comfortably Eddie Howe’s number three ‘keeper behind Artur Boruc and Adam Federici, this move should see the 23-year-old get some crucial game time down in the fourth tier.
Wycombe are in the market for a goalkeeper following an extraordinary turn of events in recent weeks.
Number one Matt Ingram left for QPR earlier this month, and Alex Lynch, next in line, was injured in Saturday’s victory over Plymouth Argyle. This left 46-year old coach Barry Richardson as the only fit keeper in the squad, so this signing will add cover whilst Lynch is out.
Wycombe currently sit 8th in League Two, one point behind the play off places with two games in hand.
