Done Deal: Wolves confirm transfer for powerful midfielder

Published

on

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed on their official website that central midfielder Prince Oniangue has joined Sporting Club de Bastia on loan until the end of the season.

Prince Oniangue joined Wolves in the summer from Reims but now he returns to France on a temporary basis.

The move will allow the 28-year-old to get more playing time as he returns to full fitness following an injury lay-off.

Oniangue has not played since he sustained a hamstring injury in Wolves’ defeat to Brighton in October.

The powerful defensive midfielder had netted twice in eleven games prior to that.

Since his return from injury, Oniangue has not managed to break into the first team picture.

The Congo international will join Ligue 1 outfit Bastia on loan until the end of the 2016/17 season before Wolves assess his situation and his future with at Molineux in the summer.

It is believed that Bastia beat off competition from a number of French clubs to land Oniangue.

Wolves fans – is this disappointing news? Does Oniangue have a future at Molineux? Let us know in the comments below…
