Done Deal: Wolves break transfer record to sign attacker

Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a shock deadline day swoop for AS Monaco attacker Ivan Cavaleiro, the club have confirmed.

The club have been extremely active in the transfer window since their takeover and have broken their transfer record to bring in the 22-year-old in, signing a 5-year-deal at the club.

Cavaleiro is one Portugal’s highest rated youngsters and joined Monaco from Benfica last year following an impressive loan spell at Spanish Deportivo La Coruna in 2014/15.

He only made eight appearances in his first season at France, as the French giants overhauled their transfer strategy to focus on moving for younger players.

He becomes the club’s 13th signing of the summer as they look to push towards the Premier League, following their takeover from Fosun Group, who’ve made them the second richest club in the country.

He could make his debut in the club’s next game against Burton Albion.

Wolves fans… Are you thrilled with this signing? Will Cavaleiro succeed in the Premier League? What are your chances of promotion? Let us know in the comments below!
