Sky Bet League One side Wigan Athletic have signed striker Will Grigg from Brentford for an undisclosed fee, the Latics’ official website have announced.
The 24-year-old passed a medical at the DW Stadium and has signed a three-year deal with the Latics, as manager Gary Caldwell is building a side that is capable of bouncing back into the Championship at the first attempt following relegation last season.
Grigg shone in a loan spell at MK Dons last season, scoring 20 goals in 31 starts as the Dons finished runners-up in League One last season.
The Northern Ireland international also bagged a brace in a shock 4-0 win over Manchester United in the Capital One Cup.
Karl Robinson, the Dons manager, had been keen to bring the striker back to Stadium:mk on a permanent basis but they could not agree a fee with Brentford.
Grigg began his career at Walsall, where he scored 27 goals in 99 league appearances, before joining Brentford for a tribunal-set fee in the summer of 2013.
He scored four times in 16 outings but found first-team football limited at Griffin Park.
