Turkish side Rizespor have announced the signing of Nottingham Forest defender Armand Traore on a two-year deal.

The report claims that they also have an option to extend the deal if they so wish, ending speculation as to where the former Arsenal left back would end up this summer.

28-year old Traore joined Forest in 2016, making just 32 appearances in all competitions. He spent a short spell out on loan with Cardiff City last season, appearing four times as they secured promotion to the Premier League.

Traore had been linked with a move to Antalyaspor, but it is their Super Lig rivals who have finally offered the Senegalese player a way out of Nottingham. He's previously appeared for QPR, Portsmouth and once enjoyed a loan spell with Italian giants Juventus.

Traore was capped at U19 and U21 level for France, but switched to Senegal whom he qualifies to play for through his father. He's made five appearances for the Lions of Teranga, the last of which came during qualification for the 2014 World Cup.

The Verdict

The move hasn't yet been announced by Forest, but Rizespor have carried a picture of him signing the deal, so it's definitely been done.

Traore never settled at the City Ground and has arguably failed to live up to the promise he showed as a youngster with Arsenal. This move should afford him some first team football and perhaps the opportunity to play for his country once more.
