Swindon released Andy Williams and have been on the lookout for a striker all summer and identified Thomas as someone to replace his goals.

He has joined on loan until January but that may be extended should he score enough goals to impress Swindon boss Mark Cooper.

The 28-year old has had a journeyman career so far, playing for 13 different clubs including loan spells but will be hoping that he can start firing the goals that he has lacked in recent seasons.

Swindon have had a strong start to the season despite a summer that saw them lose a number of key players, winning two of their opening five games.

Swindon and Birmingham fans…….What do you make of the news? Is Thomas a good signing? Can he replace Williams’ goals? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
