Shrewsbury Town have officially announced the signing of free agent Adam El-Abd, following his release from Bristol City.
The 31-year-old has vast experience in the English football league system.
He played for his hometown club Brighton and Hove Albion after graduating from there academy. During his time with the Seagulls, he made a staggering 300 league appearances for the club.
He won Player of the Year in the 2010/11 campaign and finally left the Sussex-based club in January 2014 when he moved to League One side Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.
He has, however, only made 14 appearances in two seasons with the Robins and was loaned out to Bury, Swindon and Gillingham for spells during his time at Bristol City.
His contract was terminated by mutual consent this summer and he joins up with Micky Mellon’s Shrewsbury side as they prepare for another season in League One. The former Egypt international signs a 2 year deal with the Shropshire-based club.
