Sheffield Wednesday have completed the loan signing of Everton winger Aiden McGeady until the end of the season, according the club’s official website.

Aiden McGeady

McGeady has been on the fringes of the Everton squad this season – making just a single appearance, and has been given permission to leave Merseyside for Yorkshire.

The winger is looking for first team football, hoping that he can cement a place in Ireland’s Euro 2016 squad in the summer.

The 29-year-old will be a welcome addition to Hillsborough, and will bring a wealth of experience with him.

He has represented Celtic and Spartak Moscow in the Champions League, and has won several titles with the Scottish giants.

Sheffield Wednesday are looking to boost their squad in their race for a play-off place. They have been performing above expectations and McGeady will add quality to the Championship.

Wednesday currently occupy 7th place in the Championship and the Irish winger could make his home debut against Burnley on tomorrow night.

Sheffield Wednesday fans… Are you excited by this signing? Will he be the difference whether you are a Premier League side next season? Let us know in your thoughts and opinions below!
