Sheffield Wednesday have signed Michael Turner from Norwich City on a season-long loan deal, the Owls have confirmed.
The experienced centre-back has joined the Owls after seeing his chances at Norwich diminish in recent months and will be hoping to play more games for his new club.
The club’s official website confirmed the signing of the 31-year old, who started his career with Charlton, and is close to reaching his 400th league appearance and his experience will be a vital asset to the Sheffield side, who have let in four goals in as many Championship games this season.
Turner has played in the Premier League for Hull City, Sunderland and Norwich City, but Canaries boss Alex Neil seemingly does not see him playing a role in their bid to stay in English football’s top flight, having fallen down the pecking order to the likes of Russell Martin, Sebastian Bassong and Ryan Bennett.
Wednesday will now assess Turner this week and will hope to play him in their Championship clash with promotion favourites Middlesbrough this Saturday.
