Wiggins now joins up with Carlos Calvahal’s squad ahead of the season opener on the 8th August where Sheffield Wednesday host Bristol City on the opening day.

The 27-year-old has a bundle of Championship experience that he can bring to the team having made 128 appearances for Charlton since signing for the club in 2011.

Wiggins, who will wear the number 16 shirt, joins a long list of new recruits for Wednesday, who have been active in the market in an attempt for promotion under new owners.

Wiggins will undoubtedly bolster Wednesday’s defensive options ahead of the new signing, as they battle for a top six position in the 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship.

Sheffield Wednesday fans, what do you make of this signing? Where do you predict your side to finish this season? Charlton fans, how big of a loss is Wiggins to your side? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
