Carlos Carvalhal’s side have secured a loan deal for the ex-Celtic striker until January 17th, and he will provide some much needed competition to the Owls’ frontline.

The prolific striker has found it hard to break into Alex Neil’s Norwich City side this season, with Neil opting to utilise the likes of Cameron Jerome and Mbokani, instead of Hooper.

Hooper, 27, joins a Sheffield Wednesday side who currently sit in ninth place in the Sky Bet Championship, after an excellent start to the 2015/16 campaign, which has seen them rack up 20 points from 13 league games.

Carvalhal’s side are unbeaten in seven league games, and the addition of Hooper will provide an element of experience and firepower, that’ll help the Owls contend for a top six spot in the division.
