Done Deal: Sheffield Wednesday confirm transfer

Sheffield Wednesday striker Sergiu Bus has departed the club to join Romanian champions Astra Giurgiu, according to the club’s official Twitter account.

Last year Bus moved to Italy on a loan switch to Salernitana, but has today agreed a one and a half year deal with Astra.

The 24-year-old striker moved to the Championship in February 2015 from CSKA Sofia on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

However, the Romanian failed to make an impact with the Owls making just nine Championship appearances in almost two years.

He netted just a single goal during his time with the Yorkshire outfit against Huddersfield Town back in April 2015.

Wednesday boss, Carvahal is looking to shift his fringe players out of the squad during the current transfer window to bring in new additions.

Barnsley striker Sam Winnall looks set to replace Bus’ striking position at Hillsborough, with the announcement expected to be imminent.
