Done Deal: Sheffield United secure transfer deal

Published

on

Sheffield United have confirmed the signing of Hartlepool midfielder Nathan Thomas, who joins for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old has joined on a three year deal as the Blades prepare for their first season back in the Championship in six seasons.

Thomas joined Hartlepool United on a free transfer from Mansfield Town in January 2016, making 55 League Two appearances for the North East club, bagging 14 goals.

Unfortunately for Hartlepool supporters, Thomas’ good form wasn’t enough to keep the club in the fourth tier as they were relegated to the National League on the final day of the season after Newport scored a late winner to survive the drop.

Unlike his former club, Nathan Thomas will be playing Championship football next season with Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United who won the League One title in 2016/17.

Nathan Thomas becomes the Blades’ second summer signing ahead of the 2017/18 campaign,¬†following Ched Evans’ arrival from Chesterfield Town.
