Sheffield United have this afternoon confirmed the signing of former striker Ched Evans on a three-year deal.
The striker returns to Bramall Lane having spent the season at Chesterfield.
The former Welsh international spent four years out of the game having served time in prison but returns to the Steel City as the Blades make their re-introduction to the Championship.
Chris Wilder successfully guided his side out of League One at the first attempt and he's begun his preparations early as he looks to build a team capable of preserving their second-tier status nextr season.
On the appointment, Wilder told SUFC.com: "The signing is just one element of the plans we have drawn-up for next season.
"We have done our homework on the player. We pride ourselves on team spirit - as the fans have seen this season - and plan to bring in players who can be part of that," he said.
The Blades are back in the Championship after a considerable time away and Blades fans will hope Evans can rediscover the form that saw him score 35 goals in the 2011-2012 season.
