Rotherham United have confirmed on their official website that Dominic Ball has returned to the club.

Dominic Ball has had his loan deal with Peterborough United cut short after he was initially meant to stay until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old joined Peterborough United in early January and made six appearances for the Sky Bet League One side, scoring once against Shrewsbury.

The centre half, who can also play as a central midfielder or as a full back, had previously played 13 times for Rotherham United in the Championship after joining from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

The former England under-20 international, who also represented Northern Ireland at youth level, returns to Rotherham after a disagreement over Peterborough’s selection policy.

Ball is ineligible to play for Rotherham for the remainder of the season, though, as the terms of his loan agreement mean that he is still registered as a Posh player, despite returning to the Millers.

Rotherham fans – what do you make of this? Is it a shame that Ball has returned? Is it a shame that he can’t play for you between now and the end of the season? Let us know in the comments below…
