Reading FC have completed the signing of Leandro Bacuna, the club's official website has confirmed.
Leandro Bacuna joins Reading from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old, who turns 26 next week, puts pen to paper on a long term contract with Reading, committing his future to the club until summer 2021 by signing a four year deal.
Bacuna is able to play in a variety of positions, making him a versatile option for Jaap Stam.
As well as playing at right back and right wing back, the thirteen-cap Curacao international is able to play anywhere across the midfield but predominantly operates as a central defensive midfielder.
Bacuna started his career at his hometown club FC Groningen, where he played over 100 games before moving to England in summer 2013.
After four seasons with the Villains, the former Netherlands under-21 international has now completed his move to Championship rivals Reading.
Leandro Bacuna could make his debut against former club Aston Villa on Tuesday night when Steve Bruce's side travel down to the Madejski Stadium for the Sky Bet Championship match.
Reading and Aston Villa currently have one point after two games and are towards the bottom of the league table.
The Verdict
There is a major injury crisis at Aston Villa and Jaap Stam needs to get faces through the door.
This transfer is hard to judge without knowing the fee involved but Reading will know that Bacuna offers tenacity, pace, strength and versatility, as well as plenty of Premier League and Championship experience.
With Reading simply needing more strength in depth, Leandro Bacuna could turn out to be a good squad option to have.
