Done Deal: Queens Park Rangers man secures deal to League One side

Published

Queen’s Park Rangers have confirmed on their official website that Michael Doughty will re-join Swindon Town on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old impressed during his loan spell at the County Ground towards the end of last year, scoring 5 times in 20 appearances.

The former Wales under-21 international has only ever made eight league appearances for QPR after making his debut back in 2010 and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is prepared to let him leave on loan again to play regular football.

This will be Doughty’s eight loan spell away from Loftus Road after stints with Woking, Crawley, St. Johnstone, Stevenage, Gillingham and Swindon.

The left-sided central midfielder is also able to operate on the left wing and has played at left back before. He becomes Luke Williams’ fourth summer signing after Lawrence Vigouroux, Conor Thomas and John Goddard.

Doughty is expected to make his second debut in Swindon’s opener, which is a home match against Coventry.

Swindon fans – what do you think? How much of a boost is this signing?

QPR fans – did you want Doughty to get a first team chance? Does he have a future with QPR?
