Done Deal: Queens Park Rangers agree deal for defender

on

Queens Park Rangers have confirmed on their official website that defender Darnell Furlong has signed a contract extension with the club.

Darnell Furlong puts pen to paper on a new deal which will see him stay at Loftus Road until the summer of 2019.

The promising young right back has played 7 senior games for Queens Park Rangers after graduating from the West London club’s academy.

This included 3 Premier League appearances.

Furlong has had three loan spells, with Northampton Town, Cambridge United and most recently Swindon Town.

QPR recalled the 21-year-old from his loan at Swindon earlier this January and he has started their last two matches in the Championship.

Furlong told the club’s official website:

“I’m delighted to have the contract sorted.

I’ve really enjoyed the last few weeks and it’s given me a taste of First Team football at QPR – and now I’ve signed this new deal, I can really focus on kicking on.”

QPR fans – is this good news? Is Furlong one for the future or can he stay in the first team? Let us know in the comments below…
