Queens Park Rangers midfielder Leroy Fer has agreed a deal to join Premier League outfit Swansea City, the top flight club has confirmed on their official website.
The Dutch playmaker has joined the Swans for a £4.75 million fee, after impressing with the Welsh side on loan in the second half of last season.
Fer made 11 appearances for Francesco Guidolin’s side after joining on loan from Queens Park Rangers, where he was reportedly unsettled and looking for a move away.
After scoring eight times in 48 games for the Hoops, Fer has made a name for himself as an extremely talented midfielder, and has found himself in and around the Dutch national team side.
However, Holland’s poor form in Euro 2016 qualifying mirrored QPR’s poor league form, and with no return to the Premier League looking likely anytime soon, Fer is eager to move on.
He will provide a replacement for midfield anchor Jonjo Shelvey, who left the Swans for Newcastle United in January and Swansea fans will be hoping he can strike up a successful partnership with Gylfi Sigurdsson in the middle of the park.
Queens Park Rangers fans, how do you feel about this news? Was it an inevitable move for Fer? Is he good enough for the Premier League? Let us know in the comments below!!!
