Queens Park Rangers have announced on their official website that young starlet Niko Hamalainen has signed a new deal with the club.
Niko Hamalainen puts pen to paper on a new contract extension which will see him stay with the West London outfit until the summer of 2019.
Hamalainen joined QPR in September 2014 from FC Dallas Academy in the United States of America.
The Florida-born youngster is a versatile player for QPR.
His preferred position is left back but he can also play in midfield.
The 19-year-old had a short loan spell at Dagenham and Redbridge in League Two last year and he made his first team debut for the Hoops in an EFL Cup game against Sunderland earlier this year.
Hamalainen has gone on to play in three league games for QPR, including his first start against Sheffield Wednesday in late October.
While Jake Bidwell and Jack Robinson are competing with the teenager for the starting left back spot, Hamalainen is eyeing it up as his for the future and is benefiting from working with the experienced Bidwell.
The twice-capped Finland under-19 international is now hoping to impress new manager Ian Holloway and get some more first team game time under his belt.
